Joseph N. Sorensen Was Honored— 88th Birthday. Joseph N. Sorensen was honored recently at an open house in honor of his 88th birthday. He is living at present at the home of one of his grand-daughters, Mrs. Alfred W. Stone. P-116 Victory Road. Mr. Sorensen was bon at Mendon, Utah, October 2, 1865. He married Mary E. Findley on November 23rd, 1892, in the Logan Temple. She died in October 1942, just one month before they were to celebrate their golden wedding. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mr. Sorensen filled a mission to the northwestern states, served as bishop in Naf, Idaho, for several years, as counselor to the bishop in Mendon Ward and as ward teacher and teacher in the various auxiliary organizations of the church. As mail carrier in the town of Mendon, he carried mail to and from the small post office to the Oregon Short Line Depot below the town in a one-horse black top buggy. Mr. Sorensen has two children, Mr. Harold Sorensen, Glenns Ferry, Idaho, and Mrs. Echo Humphrey, Ogden; also eight grand-children and ten great grand-children.
