Ogden, Utah– Hilda Andersen Brimm Valentine 85 died Sunday, April 12th, 1992 in Ogden. She was born August 26th, 1906 in Mendon, Cache County, Utah, a daughter of Andrew and Sophia Larsen Andersen. She married Byron Brimm, December 23rd, 1948. He died in 1963. She married Howard F. Valentine on June 18th, 1966, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died July 21st, 1971. She was raised and educated in Mendon and graduated from Utah State University. She was a member of the Ogden 33rd L.D.S. Ward. She was a member of the Women's University Club, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Daughters of the Nile, Bonneville Knife and Fork Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a former member of the American Association of University Women, the American Business Association and the Ladies of the Elks. Mrs. Valentine had been a teacher in the Ogden City Schools. She previously taught in Idaho and in the Cache County schools. Surviving are three step daughters Carol Gaskill, Ogden; Linda McKee, Somerset, Ohio; Joan Valentine, Ogden; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Catherine Curl, Crooksville, Ohio; Marion Van Wey, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at eleven a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from six to eight p.m. and Wednesday 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Mendon, Utah Cemetery. Howard Franklin Valentine– 52 of 1754 Lake, was found dead Sunday morning at his home of a gunshot wound. Mr. Valentine was born September 18th, 1918, in Roseville, Ohio, a son of Fessa Alonzo and Samantha Brown Valentine. In 1937 he was married to Glenna Smith. They were later divorced. In 1951 he was married to Laura Kidrowski. She died in 1964. On June 18th, 1966, he was married to Hilda Andersen Brimm in Las Vegas, Nevada. He had lived in Roseville and Zanesville, Ohio, where he was educated. He also attended the Allied Institute of Technology in Chicago. He came to Ogden in 1958 and had worked as an engineer. During World War II he served with the Army. He was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church of Roseville and attended the First Methodist Church of Ogden. He was a senior member of the American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers. He was a member of Weber Lodge No. 6, F&AM; El Monte Commandery; El Kalah Temple; Association of Shrine Oriental Bands; AAONMS of NA; Knights Templar and BOP Elks No. 17. Surviving are his widow of Ogden; one son and three daughters, Howard David Valentine, with the Navy in San Diego; Mrs. Don (Carol) Gaskill, Roy; Mrs. Jerry (Linda) McKee, Roseville, Ohio; Mrs. Craig (Joan) Clendenen, Ogden; two grandchildren. Also surviving are his step father, Carl M. Coombs, Roseville, Ohio; his step mother, Mrs. Owen Stanbery, Columbia Station, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Iva Marie VanWey, Marion, Ohio; five stepsisters, Mrs. Bill (Catherin) Curl, Crooksville, Ohio; Mrs. Kenneth (Martha) Zink, Roseville, Ohio; Mrs. Roy (Ruth Ann) Evilsizer, Columbia Station, Ohio; Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Williamson, Zanesville, Ohio; Mrs. Richard (Sally) Jones, Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at one p.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Elmer Hodges, Worshipful Master of Weber Lodge 6, officiating.
